MacBook Air May Come With M1 Chip With More Colour Options By The End of 2022: Ming-Chi Kuo

New Delhi:Β The upcoming MacBook Air will feature an M1 chip, instead of the widely anticipated upgrade to M2 chip and the new laptop is expected to be unveiled by the end of this year, according to famed Apple analyst of TF International Securities, Ming-Chi Kuo. Kuo had tweeted where he predicted an all-new design for MacBook Air with more colour variants and no Mini LED display.

“Predictions for new MacBook Air in 2022: 1. Mass production in late 2Q22 or 3Q22 2. Processor: M1 chip 3. No mini-LED display 4. All-new form factor design 5. More color options,” Kuo tweeted late on Wednesday.

The Apple analyst strongly believes that Apple will use an updated version of the M1 chip instead of putting M2 on it, according to a report published in 9to5Mac. Previously, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman had mentioned that Apple has been testing a new Apple Silicon chip for Macs with 8 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores. Furthermore, according to Kuo, the new MacBook Air will enter the mass production phase in the late second quarter or third quarter of this year, to meet the expected release deadline.

The design of the upgraded MacBook Air will be more in line with the current MacBook Pro series and the tech giant will offer up to seven colour options, suggest some rumours. The thickness of the upcoming MacBook Air and weight both should be reduced.

Meanwhile, Apple has just announced an overdue upgrade to the iPad Air at its online Peek Performance event on March 8. The new iPad Air now comes with the M1 chip and 5G support.
