A picture of a 10-year-old Manipur girl going to school with her younger sister in her arms has won the hearts of netizens and Manipur’s Minister of Power, Forest and Environment Bishwajit Singh. Miningsinliu Pamei, a 10-year-old student in Class IV, went to school to look after her younger sister as her parents were busy with farming. The picture caught the attention of Bishwajit Singh. He wrote, his dedication towards education astonished me. Pamei, 10, from Tamenglong, Manipur, is attending school while taking care of her sister. She studies with her younger sister in her lap.
The minister said that he has contacted the family of the little girl and asked them to bring Miningsinliu to Imphal. Singh said that he would take care of Meiningsinliu’s education till he graduated. Singh tweeted, “As soon as I saw this news on social media, we traced his family and asked them to bring him to Imphal. Spoke to her family that I will personally take care of her education till she graduates. Proud of his dedication.”
While retweeting Bishwajit Singh’s tweet, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan wrote, “This powerful image represents the aspirations of our children, especially girls.
