New Delhi: The much-useful always-on display that Android smartphones got some years back is finally coming to the upcoming Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the tech giant is likely to introduce the always-on display feature to the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro variants with iOS 16. The always-on display feature will let the upcoming iPhones display a limited amount of information even while they are locked.

The tech giant is also slated to host its annual Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, popularly known as WWDC at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California on June 6 and the event may see the announcement of its next mobile operating system, the iOS 16. The new software is codenamed Sydney and it will be a fairly significant upgrade from the current iOS 15, the Bloomberg report added.

The iOS 16 would include major changes across the OS, including updates to notifications, the Messages and Health apps and iPad multitasking.

The WWDC annual event begins on June 6 when there is the keynote session and lasts through June 10 for developers and other members. Free for all developers, the WWDC helps developers and designers explore the latest technologies, tools, and frameworks coming to Apple’s iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS.

It should be noted that this will be the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began that the WWDC conference will have some on-campus attendance of developers and Apple has tightened the Covid-19 prevention rules for developers that need to be followed. The keynote address will be held online and can be streamed live on the company’s website, Apple’s Developer app, Apple TV as well as YouTube.
