CBI Arrests Avinash Bhosle: The CBI on Thursday arrested Avinash Bhosale, chairman of Pune-based real estate group ABIL, in the DHFL-Yes Bank loan case. The CBI had raided the premises of Avinash Bhosle last month in search of him. Avinash Bhosle will be produced in the court on Friday. On April 30, the CBI had searched the premises of well-known builders of the state in this case. During this, the premises of ABIL and Bhosale were also searched.
Avinash Bhosle was arrested in an alleged corruption case involving Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor and DHFL’s Kapil Wadhawan. The CBI suspects that the illegal money was routed through several real estate companies based in Maharashtra.
What is in the CBI FIR?
The CBI has alleged that Kapoor hatched a criminal conspiracy with the Wadhawans to extend financial assistance to DHFL through Yes Bank, in return for undue benefits to him and his family members through companies held by him. According to the CBI FIR, the scam started between April and June 2018, when Yes Bank invested Rs 3,700 crore in short-term debentures of scam-hit DHFL. Avinash Bhosle has now been arrested in the same case.
