DGCA will probe into SpiceJet flight, claims company official; Had to do it in Patna

Patna to Delhi: An engine fire broke out at the Patna airport of a Delhi-bound SpiceJet flight. As soon as this information was received, the aircraft was immediately landed at Patna airport for emergency landing. SpiceJet Limited’s Head of Flight Operations Gurcharan Arora said that the pilots handled the situation well. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said that it will investigate the matter. Arora said, “The pilots handled the situation well. When the plane landed, only the single engine was working. Engineers inspected the aircraft. After which it was confirmed that the fan blades and engine were damaged Was gone because a bird collided with it. DGCA will investigate further.”

Around 185 passengers aboard a SpiceJet Boeing 737 returned safely to Patna after an emergency landing on Sunday afternoon following reports of an engine fire.
Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) officials said the aircraft (VT-SYZ) was involved in an air turnback as the cabin crew had informed the PIC about sparks emanating from the engine. During rotation, the cockpit crew suspected a bird hit on the engine. Later, the crew did not notice any abnormalities and resumed flight.

Accident happened due to bird collision
Officials said, “The plane’s engine caught fire due to a bird collision and an engine shutdown in the air, due to which the plane had to make an emergency landing. All the passengers on board are safe during this time.” A Delhi-bound SpiceJet plane made an emergency landing at Patna airport on Sunday afternoon after a technical snag was reported, which led to a fire inside the plane. All the passengers have been rescued safely.

185 passengers were deboarded safely
Patna DM Chandrashekhar Singh told the media, “The flight to Delhi landed at Patna airport after the local people caught fire in the plane and informed the District Magistrate and airport officials. had returned. All 185 passengers were deboarded safely. The reason for this was a technical fault, the engineering team is doing further analysis.” He further said, “Taking cognizance of the incident, Patna Airport Director said that alternate flight arrangements are being made by SpiceJet Airlines.”
